The Good Walk Policies and Peace of Mind

A few helpful details to keep every pup safe, happy, and ready for a very good walk.

Meet & Sniff Required
Before the first walk or puppy break, we’ll schedule a complimentary meet-and-greet. This gives us a chance to meet your dog, learn their routine, review leash setup and home access, and get to know their personality, quirks, favorite things, and anything that helps them feel comfortable.

Private Walks, Happy Paws
All Good Walks are private and designed around your dog’s pace, comfort, and needs. We do not offer pack walks, off-leash outings, or dog park visits without explicit approval.

Have more than one pup at home? We’re happy to walk up to three dogs from the same household, as long as they are comfortable and safe walking together.

Additional dog pricing:
Second dog: +$10 per walk
Third dog: +$8–$10 per walk

Cancellations
Plans can change, we get it. Cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance will not be charged. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged the full service fee.

Same-Day Walks
Need a last-minute Good Walk? Same-day requests may be available depending on the schedule and may include an additional fee.

Weather, Wagging & Safety
Your dog’s safety always comes first. Walks may be shortened, adjusted, or rescheduled in cases of unsafe heat, heavy rain, lightning, poor air quality, or other conditions that may not be safe for paws, noses, or humans. On warm days, we may choose shaded routes or slower strolls.(But hey, this is San Diego after all, in our experience, weather-related issues are infrequent)

Leashes & Gear
Dogs must have a properly fitted collar or harness and leash. For everyone’s safety, we do not use retractable leashes during Good Walks.

Doggy Details Matter
Please let us know about any leash reactivity, anxiety, escape-artist tendencies, bite history, medical needs, mobility limits, allergies, medications, or other details that help us care for your dog safely and kindly.

Healthy Pups
Dogs should be current on age-appropriate vaccinations and flea/tick prevention. Please share any health updates before scheduled walks so we can make the best choices for your pup.

Home Access
Please make sure keys, gates, doors, codes, concierge instructions, and parking details are accurate and ready to go. If we are unable to access your dog at the scheduled time, the visit may still be charged.

Post-Walk Pupdates
After each visit, you’ll receive a brief update so you know how your dog did, where we walked, and anything notable from their outing.

Payment
Payment is due at the time of booking or according to the agreed schedule. Recurring Good Walk clients may be billed weekly.

Service Area
The Good Walk Dog Walking serves select neighborhoods in Carmel Valley, Del Mar, (and Solana Beach for recurring clients). Availability depends on location, timing, and route fit.
